Whiter Side of Trash last performed Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at Oasis Cafe in New Paltz, NY as one of the acts in the acoustic open mic night. It was guitarist Pete Pidgeon's last night hosting the open mic before his move to Boston. Whiter Side will continue on in New Paltz under the name Humous (but pronounce Hoo-moose). UPCOMING SHOWSStay tuned...RECENT SHOWSWednesday, August 30, 2000 at Oasis Cafe in New Paltz, NY saw the group's final performane with a pair of tunes including the debut of "Steppin' Razor" by Peter Tosh (sung by Gianny) and the Whiter Side classic - Dave Mason's "Feelin' Alright." On Friday, June 9, 2000, Whiter Side headlined Snug Harbor in New Paltz, NY along-side Pete's jazz trio the Pidgeon Piller Project. The show featured Pete's older brother Scott Pidgeon on 12-string and 6-string guitars. This was the first time Pete and Scott had played together on stage in *9* years! The set also included an appearance by members of Legion Of Doom (formerly Cirrhosis) on Bad To the Bone and a few other tunes. The setlist (once deciphered...) will be posted here shortly. Other tunes played include Father Figure (George Michael), Fire On the Mountain (Garcia/Hunter), Lawn Boy (Phish), Sweet Home Alabama (Lynard Skynard), All Night Long (Lionel Richie), Righteous Man (original), Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi), More Than Words (Extreme), To Be With You (Mr. Big), Good & Drunk (original), and many, many more... On May 10, 2000, Whiter Side made a suprise appearance at the Oasis Cafe in New Paltz, NY for the Wednesday night Acoustic Open Mic Night. The set included "All Night Long" by Lionell Richie, "Asshole" by Dennis Leary, "Kiss Me" by Six Pence None the Richer, and "Feelin' Alright" by Dave Mason with special guest Chris "The Barback" on harmonica. On Monday, December 20, 1999, Whiter Side of Trash performed in a benefit for The Salvation Army at Odessey @ Cabaloosa. The event raised money for Salvation Army and collected toys for the Toys For Tots holiday gift drive. Other peformers included New Paltz natives Calysto Square, deadheads Half-Step, acoustic female performers We, and Allison Hartwell & Friends. Whiter Side's set included: Feelin' Alright (Mason), Mike's Song (Phish) > Black Peter (Garcia/ Hunter), The Thrill Is Gone (Darnell/ Hawkins), Reighteous Man (original), and Porch (Pearl Jam). On Friday, December 10, 1999, Whiter Side of Trash (featuring Gian Starr) made a surprise, last-minute appearance at Oasis Cafe in New Paltz. The opening set featured Gian and Pete Pidgeon on originals "Float" and "At Once" followed by the addition of madolinist Dave Ellison minus Gian on "The Path." Gian then jumped back to join for Pearl Jam's "Black." A brief break ensued so Pete could leave for his Groove Merchants gig in Saugerties later that night. The second set was greeted by the Starr/ Ellison duo which included: He Was A Friend of Mine (Traditional/ Dylan), Black Eyed Katy (Phish), Candyman (Garcia/ Hunter), Mississippi Half-Step (Garcia/ Hunter), Dupree's Diamond Blues (Hunter/ Garcia/ Lesh), and Dark Hollow (traditional). A second intermission brought the group to set three and the inclusion of Whiskey Dick saxophonist Misha Silverman.
